On 5 January, we took part in another first aid training session focused on the principles of Basic Life Support. We combined structured theoretical knowledge with intensive practical exercises that reflected real-life situations involving threats to health and life.
During the training, we focused on securing the scene, assessing consciousness and breathing, and calling for help correctly. We practised cardiopulmonary resuscitation, the use of an AED – including an overview of our on-site defibrillator – as well as placing an injured person in the recovery position.
An important part of the session covered how to respond to emergency situations such as choking, heart attack and stroke, as well as the correct treatment of fractures, burns and other injuries. This knowledge was reinforced through exercises on training manikins, allowing us to practise procedures in controlled conditions.
At the end, we took part in realistic scenarios involving experienced role players. We practised responses to incidents typical of our work, including mechanical injuries and situations requiring support for a person in a mental health crisis, which proved to be a particularly moving and valuable experience.
We would like to thank all participants for their commitment and active involvement. We believe that regular training genuinely increases safety in the workplace and prepares us to act responsibly in emergency situations.
